karla + ryan // palm springs, ca

We’re excited to share the wedding highlight from our friends, Karla and Ryan’s intimate Palm Springs wedding. We’ve known Karla for over 5 years and for about as long, she’s been saying “When Ryan and I get married, you guys are doing our film!” We couldn’t happier that day finally arrived and that we were there to capture this dynamic and hilarious couple’s beautiful and creative wedding. They truly complement each other perfectly! When Karla is stressed or overwhelmed, Ryan gives her confidence and reassurance, while Karla motivates Ryan to travel outside of his comfort zone and try new experiences. They’re warm, funny and value their relationships with family and friends. Their wedding consisted of about 35 guests, which traveled 3000 miles and were incredibly pumped to see these two exchange their vows. The entire wedding was DIY, planned by Karla from Miami and everything was flawless despite there being no prior site visits or tasting! Her brother was the DJ for the night, and being an amazing photographer herself, Karla trusted her incredibly talented friend Gabriel Sanchez to capture the day. We had a blast being a part of this special moment in Karla and Ryan’s life and we’re excited to see what the future holds for this awesome couple. Enjoy their film!

kavya + robert // williamsburg, va

We had such an amazing time filming Kavya and Robert’s wedding in Williamsburg, VA. Theirs was a joining of two families and also two cultures. I know Rob was excited to wield a sword while riding a horse during his baraat, surrounded by his friends and family dressed in traditional garments of Indian culture. Kavya’s amazing spirit and sense of humor was on display all weekend. She was unable to speak because she was “attacked by a gang of ninja pirates before the wedding and fought them off with Rob’s katana”. What actually happened is she had become ill in the days leading up the wedding and broke a couple of ribs from coughing! She still had a huge smile on her face and enjoyed their wedding weekend to the fullest despite not feeling 100% well. The entire weekend was beautifully orchestrated by our friends at CG & Co Events, which ended with an awesome fireworks display. Thanks to Kavya and Rob for sharing their special weekend with us!

roxy + rodney // miami, fl

We’re excited to share the highlight from Roxy and Rodney’s sweet backyard wedding in Miami, FL. Rodney and Roxy met at a bible study and credit their faith with bringing them together and strengthening their relationship. They’re funny, sweet and generous people that love to host parties for their friends, so celebrating their nuptials in their backyard made perfect sense. They spent weeks shopping for antique furniture, finding the perfect decor accents and deciding on their favorite cupcake flavors to share with their closest family and friends. Rodney’s daughter Brianna plays a huge role in their relationship as well. Roxy and Bri get along so well that you’d think they’ve been family from the start! Rodney’s only complaint is that he’s constantly being excluded from their girl talk sessions. It felt amazing to be a part of such an intimate event, surrounded by love and the best vibes. As the evening went on, it started to rain just as their reception was about to kick-off (which would typically put a damper on the party). After waiting about 2 minutes for the rain to stop, everyone just shrugged their shoulders and danced in the rain for the rest of the night. We’re so happy to have met Roxy and Rodney and hope you enjoy their highlight as much as we enjoyed making it!

josy + bryan // coral gables, fl

Recently, I had the honor of acting as both filmmaker and best man at my brother’s wedding. Bryan is the baby of my family and he is someone that I find fascinating. He’s a sweet guy who not only sees the glass as half-full, but overflowing with possibility. He’s got big dreams and plans to pursue each and every one of them. He and Joselyne currently own a gym and a very popular Paleo-friendly bakery (yes, they deliver). He also dabbles in painting and just about anything else that someone might find interesting (including poetry, which you’ll hear in his vows). What makes Josy such a perfect partner is that she quiets the noise and brings focus to his life. She has a calming strength and maturity that complements his extroverted goofiness. They met in high school and have been together for over 8 years, so I’ve considered her a sister for a long time now. These two have accomplished so much in such little time and we’re excited to see what’s next for them. Congratulations Josy and Bryan, we love you both!

We’d also like to give a major shout-out to all of the wedding vendors that contributed their talents to this event. They made my little brother and his wife very happy and for that, we are eternally grateful. Elaine and Mike, the photos are awesome! Hopefully this video will make my family stop talking about how much they love the photos for a few minutes ;)…That stunning flower-wall featured in their ceremony was created by Rick and his team at Avant Gardens. Reverend Eddie Rodriguez often appears in our films because he’s one of the greatest officiants and he gave us a beautiful ceremony. Their wedding planner Sari made sure that everything went flawlessly and Vanessa from Ohh My Sweetness created an amazing/delicious dessert station that all the guests raved about. Lastly, I’d like to thank the video team. While I was running around doing best man stuff, I was at ease knowing that Jessica, Evan and Idalia were capturing everything beautifully.

nicole + josh // coconut grove, fl

We’re thrilled to share the highlight from Nicole and Josh’s beautiful wedding from last month. Nicole and Josh’s wedding was the complete emotional package. From the fun and goofy socks that Josh and his groomsmen wore to the beautiful words that this couple wrote to each other as they were getting ready to walk down the aisle. Josh’s reaction to seeing Nicole for the first time made this one of my favorite “first looks” ever! Their union is also special because in the 3 1/2 years that they’ve been together, Nicole has grown close to Josh’s son Dylan. She says that they’re best pals and often get into trouble together. The three of them becoming a family unit was visually represented in the mixing of three different types of sand during their ceremony, officiated by our friend Rev. Eddie Rodriguez. We’re so happy to have met and worked with this awesome family and hope you love their highlight!

jen + chris // marin headlands, ca

It was such a pleasure traveling to Sausalito, CA for Jen and Chris’ wedding. It was a sensory experience all-round. The scenics were breathtaking, Jen and Chris are both from the Bay Area and could not have picked a more perfect place to celebrate their marriage. Chris’ sister and cousin played the piano and violin beautifully during their ceremony and the sweet smell of the Eucalyptus filled the air. Lastly, the food was amazing. Everything from the “Rehearsal BBQ” to the dinner on their wedding night was delicious (I had never tried beets before and discovered that I love them!). Food seems to be a big intersection in Jen and Chris’ relationship. Jen is a creative through-and-through while Chris, an analytical, process-driven thinker who works in finance finds his creativity in the kitchen. He forages for ingredients and creates delicious dishes while Jen styles and photographs the meal. This kind of teamwork has served them well in their 10-year relationship and will continue to do so for the rest of their lives. This was a real unique experience for their guests as well because many of them stayed at the hostel next door to the the Headlands Center for the Arts, where the wedding was held. This was an opportunity to have everyone in one place and enjoy each other’s company and the beautiful scenery throughout the wedding weekend. We thank Jen and Chris’ families for their kindness and hospitality as they prepared meals for us and treated us like family at the hostel. Enjoy the highlight!

christina + evan // san francisco, ca

Christina and Evan are an incredibly bright, humble and authentic couple whose wedding day we had the honor of capturing this past Fall. Despite their youth, their love seems to have the wisdom of a 30-year relationship, and from our observations, this is probably because they complement each other so well. They have so much in common and share core values, yet they are so different. They have inquisitive minds and share an adventurous spirit that has brought them from a casual meeting during freshman orientation in college, to husband and wife 12 years later. Their wedding felt like an extension of who they are; authentic, loving people with timeless taste, who love to be surrounded by the ones they hold dear. Their love of nature was also evident in their choice of having a rehearsal dinner at a beautiful goat dairy farm and their appreciation of history and architecture was represented in their historic ceremony space. This was truly emotional piece for us to work on. In addition to their beautifully intimate vows, their reception was filled with moving speeches that indicate how incredibly loved they are by their family and friends. Overall, it was a pleasure and an inspiration to tell the story of Christina and Evan’s new chapter in life. We wish them a lifetime of love, happiness and success.

tori + vinny // amalfi coast, italy

We’re excited to share Tori and Vinny’s wedding highlight of their amazing summer wedding in Italy. Our couple’s journey to this incredible event was an interesting one. Vinny and Tori, who have been together for many years, were in the midst of planning a trip to Italy’s stunning Amalfi Coast with some of their closest family and friends, when they decided that it was the perfect opportunity to tie the knot and officially unite their family. With the help of the team at Trufflepig, they planned a gorgeous wedding, inviting 130 guests to celebrate their love among the mountains and shoreline of Italy’s famed coastline. From exploring the towns of Ravello and Positano, to jumping off of Delma, the 280ft yacht chartered for the occasion, their wedding weekend was full of fun, love and excitement. For us, it was a fantastic opportunity to travel to Europe and get to know this dynamic couple and their beautiful family. Vinny and Tori are the real deal: humble, thoughtful and with an unquenchable thirst for life and chasing their dreams. We have no doubt they will have a long life of love and happiness! This was truly an amazing trip and we’re thrilled to have been a part of it. Enjoy their film!

ali + marcus // islamorada, fl

We are happy to present the wedding highlight of Ali and Marcus’ perfect Islamorada wedding from this past Spring…and the end of another Belvedere Trilogy. Ali and Marcus have been friends of ours for some time now (Ali caught the bouquet at our own wedding 4 years ago, and now it’s her turn!). Last year, we had the opportunity to document their Engagement in the Clouds, their “Take the Plunge” Save the Date and now, their wedding film.

This final chapter of their story takes place in balmy and breezy Islamorada, Florida, known for it’s iconic sunsets and laid-back attitude. Our couple has spent many a lazy weekend enjoying fresh seafood and cocktails by the water, Full Moon Parties and rides on the boat with their super-aquatic dog, Albus. It’s easy to see why they call Islamorada their paradise. With the gorgeous Pierre’s Restaurant as their backdrop and surrounded by family and friends, Ali and Marcus finally said I Do. Although they’re known among loved ones to be fun-loving and hilarious, there was hardly a dry eye on the sand as everyone in attendance was deeply moved by their vows, where Ali and Marcus spoke of their love and commitment, of their plans to travel the world together, and promised to always be by each other’s side.

Their new union was celebrated at a stunning candlelit reception, planned by Jennifer J. Events, followed by dancing under the stars to a Junkanoo band and a surprise firework display. It was truly a magical night for two very caring and deserving people who are loved by anyone who knows them and are well on their way to building a fantastic life together.

Ali & Marcus, we hope the rest of your lives are filled with Love, Laughter and Travels! Enjoy your film!

100 miles through the canyon

This is our version of the classic grade school essay “What I did on my Summer Vacation.” Ed turned the big 3-0 on July 7th and what better way to celebrate 3 decades of existing and breathing, than with an epic, adventurous trip? We are big fans of visiting places that make you feel small and remind you how big and beautiful the world is, and when it comes to big and beautiful, the Grand Canyon truly fits the bill. Spectacular views, clear blue skies, 2 billion year old layered rocks and the freezing cold Colorado river makes up most of America’s favorite travel destination. Oh, and heat…lots of it! Leave it to us to plan a vacation in the Grand Canyon during a heat advisory…the temperature rose to 118 degrees during our stay and we quickly learned that The Heat is not just an outstanding basketball team, but a serious weather condition, too! 😀 But it was a small price to pay to see with our own eyes the majestic beauty of the Grand Canyon and partake in all the awesome activities available there.

We were lucky enough to visit the Bar 10 Dude Ranch, a true piece of historic Americana, run by real cowboys who herd cattle and live in remoteness and seclusion from the everyday world, just outside the Canyon. There, we partook in awesome activities such as horseback riding, skeet shooting, and riding ATVs to the Canyon’s rim at sunset. At night, we slept in covered wagons…something straight out of the Oregon Trail computer game! However, the real adventure began when we took a helicopter ride down into the Grand Canyon, and embarked on a 2 day white water rafting trip down the Colorado river, where we hiked to hidden water falls and camped and slept under the stars. But stars is an understatement because the sky over the Canyon is so incredibly vast and clear, that we saw whole galaxies and constellations we’d never seen before. It was an awesome and almost overwhelming experience to see the actual Universe which is usually invisible to us (it’s there if you stop to look at it!).

Luckily, we did not embark on the tour alone, as we had a group of amazing families and couples join us in our 100 mile journey down the Colorado river. They made our trip fun and memorable, and now we have friends on opposite ends of the US and the world who we will keep in touch with. Denise, Mark, Taylor, Parker, Davis, Joe, Caroline, Jake, Margo, Stuart, Sinead, Claudio, Patricia, Lenny and Sandy…thank you for helping make this a fantastic trip!

If you’re interested in a Grand Canyon vacation, we highly recommend checking out Tour West. We had a great experience and our tour guides (Russ, Dave, Kevin and Albert) were super knowledgable, amazing cooks and made “roughing it” a breeze.
The Grand Canyon is one of the Seven Wonders of the World and we are lucky to have it in the US. We would recommend adding it to your bucket list because it truly is a must see!
